I am a child therapist, school counselor and teacher, currently working with children ages 3 – 18. As a lifelong student and educator, I have always been interested in learning about my fellow humans, and my journey has taken me to many different paths. I was born and raised in Hungary, and came to the United States after graduating from college with a B.A. in Education.

Working with children is my calling. I have been a Montessori teacher for the past 15 years, and have worked in various other educational settings prior to that. Through my teaching career my emphasis has always been on giving my full attention to the children, respecting their personalities and interests and helping them reach their full potential while collaborating with their parents and families. This is still my focus as a counselor.

“It takes a village to raise a child.” In our fast paced, busy lives where parents often lack the support of extended family, we need the support of others to help us navigate the ups and downs of raising our future generation. For children, it is important to have adults, besides family members who can support them through their early life challenges, lessons and transitions. It has been my privilege to be that trusted and caring adult in the lives of hundreds of children whom I have had the chance ofCsilla Vegvari working with throughout my career.

In everything I do, I incorporate Mindfulness and Balance, which is the inspiration for the name of my counseling practice. Practicing mindfulness is a skill which can help all of us become more aware of our minds, bodies, our surroundings and our relationships with our fellow human beings on a deeper level. Mindfulness helps us stay in the present and helps us regulate our emotions and attention. Finding balance is a goal which requires continuous reflection and reminders. Just like learning a balancing pose in yoga, balance in life takes practice, focus, strength and perseverance.

My other interests are practicing Yoga, taking long walks and hikes in nature, learning about the human energy field through Reiki and other healing modalities and finding the beauties and little miracles of everyday life.
